I’m not a perfect programmer. I’ve made some mistakes. Even today, I admit that some of my current code is questionable. But I’m always trying to get better. Here are some lessons I’ve learned.
I still think this is one of the fundamental concepts of software organization. It is too frequently underused.
My thoughts on the procedural abstraction
I put this under lessons because each computer I’ve used has provided its own kind of lessons. Listing them chronologically gives a sense of what influenced my knowlege of and attitude toward computing. This might also provide points of resonance with fellow old-timers, and extend the perspective of the new generations.
